A graduate of Amherst College and Fordham Law School, Michael A. Laux has practiced law in Westport, Connecticut for over 30 years. He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar’s subsection on Real Property and Probate and Trust Law, and the Westport Bar Association.

Among his numerous civic activities, Mr. Laux is a trustee of the Westport Weston Family Y. He is past president of the Westport Kiwanis Club and past president of the board of directors of Project Return, a therapeutic group home residence. He was a trustee of the Staples Tuition Grants Committee and a member of the Westport Youth Commission. He also was a member of the Town of Westport’s Re-Evaluation Committee.

Mr. Laux — who was an All-American swimmer — coaches the Staples High School Girls Swim Team, the Staples Co-ed Water Polo Team and the Westport Swim Club, a USMS Masters swim team team which he founded in 1972. He is chair of the Connecticut Local Masters Swim Committee (LMSC). Previously, he was commodore of the Saugatuck Rowing Association, president of the Westport Tennis Association and president of United States Masters Swimming.

Mr. Laux and his wife Marisol live in Westport, where they have raised their twin daughters.
